Facility Manager at Cook County Department of Facilities Management
August 2002 - August 2009 | Chicago, ILI was initially hired as a Specification Engineer for the Purchasing Agent of the Department. Later, given the responsibility of Technical Service Supervisor/Facility Manager and was assigned at the Cook County Jail. Cook County Jail Complex is made of 22 buildings and approximately 5 million square feet of space, holding about 10,000 inmates on any given day. Cook County Jail is one of the largest complexes of its kind in the country. The task of a facility manager is to oversee and run the day to day operation, keeping and maintaining the over exhausted facilities to accommodate the Sheriffs Office, the Criminal Courts and the Judges needs, States Attorney’s Office, Public Defenders Office and etc. The Facility Managers have the responsibility of overseeing 112 tradesman and 90 operating engineers. Reporting directly to the Director of Facility Management, Deputies and respective crews has an output of about 120,000 work orders annually. The responsibilities of the Technical Service Supervisor/Facility Manager include overseeing capital renovation projects with a budget ranging from $ 250,000 to $3,000,000.
